The Races of Hyrule.
Important: The following is a list of the races allowed in the Role Play section of the forums.
Note: You can make characters that are half breeds as long as it is anatomically possible.
Examples:
Half Hylian half Sheikah = Acceptable.
Half Hylian Half Deku = Not acceptable.
Hylian: The race considered by many the chosen race of the gods, Hylians are bound to carry out the will of the Goddesses and preside over the other races of Hyrule. This is mainly the reason why the Hylians are for the most part considered the most superior race in Hyrule. Hylians are an elf-like race of people who first established an ordered civilization in Hyrule. Physically, Hylians resemble humans, in which the only difference appearance-wise are their elf-like ears. The Hylians have long, sculpted ears that supposedly enable them to hear special messages. As the chosen people, they are also given unique psychic and magical abilities. This has been demonstrated in several different ways over time.
The traditional Hylian dress is simple and functional. Typically, men belt leather jerkins at the waist, and women slip into straight, ankle-length gowns. Although simple of design, Hylian dresses and tunics are often embellished with brightly colored, hand-stitched borders that make them look almost festive.
Side Note: Only the descendants of the Hylian Knights can wield the legendary Sword of Evil's Bane, the Master Sword.
Sheikah: The Sheikah is an ancient clan of ninja-like warriors sworn to protect the Hylian Royal Family, even after death; as such they came to be known as "the Shadows of the Hylians".
They were outcasts and feared in Hyrule perhaps for this very reason, and are presumed to have moved away from the Hylians to another region beyond the mountains. Much like Humans other than the traditional clothing that they wore they are almost identical to Hylians externally, and only known difference between Hylian and Sheikah biology are the Sheikahs eyes that are blood red in color. They were skilled in magical and combative arts, and their cultural pendant was an eye with three triangles above it (as if to imitate eyelashes or symbolize the Triforce) and a teardrop.Young males pierced their ears as a traditional rite of passage. Not much is known about their lifespan or other details about their lives.
Twili: The Twili were descendants of sorcerers only known as the Dark Interlopers, who attempted to seize control of the Sacred Realm after the creation of the Triforce. They were seized by the three Goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore, with the aid of the Light Spirits, and banished to a limbo known as the Twilight Realm. Over a long period of time, because of the vastly different environment within the Twilight Realm, the interlopers evolved from their original forms to a unique, black and white, gentle-looking race, namely the Twili. Eventually they gave up their will to rule over the Sacred Realm and Hyrule and became peacefully adapted to their new lifestyle in the Twilight Realm. A Twili's skin was mostly black while their faces, necks, and chests tend to have gray patterns in a marked contrast to the rest of their bodies.
Zora: While still humanoid shaped, the Zoras resemble other marine creatures in their body structure. Most of them wear no clothes, but certain members of their species do wear clothing, or a helmet that completely encases their head. They are generally covered in silver scales, which give them a pale blue sheen from a distance, and they have dark blue spots on their extremities. Where humans sometimes have long hair, average Zoras have rear-hanging caudal extensions of their heads shaped like the tails of dolphins, perhaps as a cephalized form of dorsal fin. These tails undulate periodically, which gives a Zora's head the unique semblance of a fish. Zoras have two large ulnar fins located distally on their forearms, and some have smaller fins at their ankles. They are sometimes depicted as having webbed feet and hands. Zoras have gills on their abdomen, analogous to the placement of lungs on a human. Additionally, Zoras who possess magical power have the ability to create electric fields around their bodies as a defense mechanism when swimming, much like electric eels. All Zoras are powerful swimmers (in fact, powerful enough to swim up waterfalls).
Kokiri:The Kokiri are a humanoid fairy race in who inhabit the Kokiri Forest. Cautious, child-like, and secretive, they believe that they will die if they leave the forest. It is also suggested that if they wander too deep into the forest and remain there for too long, they will eventually become Skull Kids. These beliefs stop most of them from ever leaving their part of the forest. Though they resemble Hylian children, the Kokiri are ageless and never grow old. Each Kokiri has a guardian fairy that plays the role of friend, parent, guardian, and teacher. They are watched over by the Great Deku Tree, and Saria, the previous Sage of Forest, but Mido is their "boss".
The Kokiri were likely created by the Great Deku Tree. Most Kokiri wear green tunics and all have pointy ears. The males tend to wear green hats while the females have green headbands.
Goron: Gorons are physically intimidating as their height and sheer size are almost double that of an average human. The Gorons maintain a strict diet of rocks and, as a result, develop rocky growths on their backs as they age. Due to their enormous density (most likely due to high muscle-mass, as muscle does not float), they are helpess in water because they'll sink to the bottom. It is apparent in the Goron world that some Gorons grow to exaggeratedly huge sizes (though very rarely). Another feature of Goron biology is their ability to curl into a fetal position (with their heads tucked between their legs). This is the Goron's position when left unattended, or when they are sleeping. Gorons use this form for transportation as well. Gorons roll rapidly at speeds up to 60-70 MPH. Gorons who are endowed with fairy magic grow metal spikes, which can be used as weapons. Gorons are also resistant to heat, to the point of being able to walk through lava. This is a valuable capability when searching for food inside mountains. They may also be fooled by appearances due to bad eyesight, similar to moles, as they are a subterranean species.
Gerudo: Quick witted, aggressive, fiery tempered and highly attractive, the Gerudo are a tribe of thieves. Functionally, they seem to be Amazons, their race consists entirely of women, but legend has it that a man is born every hundred years, and this man is destined to become the King of the Gerudo. They are known to have relations with Hylian men, with whom they form relationships or simply use for procreation. Gerudo have tanned skin and red hair.
Fairies: Fairies are a magical and benevolent race. Fairies appear as humanoids, often small, winged, and obscured by emitted light. They can be found in many places, but usually reside in a Fairy Fountain or Fairy Spring, sometimes under the protection of a Great Fairy. These Fairies from the fountains will heal people when they approach and they can put them in Bottles for later use. If someone dies while carrying a bottled Fairy with them, it will revive them.
*The oldest, and most frequently-seen, is the humanoid fairy. Among these are small healing fairies, usually depicted as an extremely small girl or young woman, with wings and, sometimes, a wand. The other humanoid types are the Great Fairies and Fairy Queens, which are at least the size of a normal human, and range from VERY human-like in appearance to much more stylized.
*The Orb Fairy the second-most-common type is a small glowing ball of light, usually with four fluttering wings(These are the kind that normally become guardian fairies, such as the ones the kokiri have). The colors of these glowing orbs have, so far, been white, yellow, blue, pink, red, dark purple, depending on the fairy. Some orb-fairies appear to be able to change their color to green temporarily, usually to aid in giving somebody an important hint.
Side Note: Guardian Fairies -cannot- be caught in a bottle.
Guardian Fairies are the ONLY fairies that can be NPC and controlled by a Role player as part of the main character.(Such as a character that is of the Kokiri race.) Guardian Fairies cannot revive people.
Deku: Deku Scrubs are small creatures that have the ability to spit Deku Nuts at their enemies. They look as if they were made of wood, hinting that they had evolved from plants.Dekus had leaves on their heads, red glowing eyes, and short, wide, mouthes that are hollow tubes which can't shut tight, preventing them from being able to swim without drowning. They could shoot nuts out of their mouths, similarly to how Octoroks shot rocks. Dekus had bark rather than skin, and were possibly made entirely out of wood; they perished quickly if set on fire. Deku Scrubs typically lived inside Deku Flowers, and sprang out of their flowers momentarily to attack any intruder. Upon initial damage, Dekus popped out of their grounded, floral homes.
There are 3 main kinds of Deku scrubs:
* Deku Scrubs: These are the most common type of Scrub and have green leaves and often are looking for a conversation.
* Mad Scrubs: These have red leaves, move more quickly, and don't talk. They tend to be the most violent form of Deku Scrub.
* Business Scrubs: These Scrubs have arms, speak, and offer to sell an item or juicy info at a high price when approached.
